MetaMask keeps your wallet in an encrypted vault inside the browser’s extension data, and the password is what decrypts it. We pull that vault and test large numbers of password candidates on air-gapped machines, built around whatever you still remember.

Invalid or incomplete phrase

MetaMask rejects a phrase when the BIP39 checksum fails, usually from a wrong word or wrong order. We search the possible corrections systematically, and the same method fills in up to 4 missing words.

Deleted or uninstalled MetaMask

Removing the extension often leaves vault data behind in the browser profile or as fragments on the drive. We work from a copy of the drive and try to carve those remnants back out, which is why you should stop using the machine now.

Zero balance after restore

Usually nothing is wrong with the phrase; MetaMask is just looking at the wrong account index, network, or derivation path. The free assessment often resolves this with no recovery work at all.

How MetaMask Wallet recovery process works

1. Initial contact
Contact us with a general description of the access problem. We use this first conversation to understand the type of wallet, the circumstances and the likely recovery route.

2. Free assessment
We assess what may be technically possible and explain the realistic prospects, expected timeframe, recovery approach and fee structure. There is no obligation to proceed.

3. Agreement and verification
Before any recovery work begins, we confirm the scope, complete the required identity and ownership checks, and sign a formal agreement. An NDA can also be arranged where appropriate.

4. Recovery process
We carry out the technical recovery on-site, remotely or in a secure, offline environment using a method suited to the wallet and the specific access problem. Depending on the complexity of the case, the process may take several days or several weeks.

5. Handover and payment
Once access has been restored, we guide you through verifying the wallet and transferring the funds to a fresh wallet under your control. The handover takes place in person where practical or during a live call, and the agreed fee is settled only after the recovery has succeeded.

The process is non-custodial. You remain responsible for and in control of your funds throughout the handover, and Crypto Recovers does not take possession of the recovered assets.

Can you recover my MetaMask wallet if I forgot the password?

In many cases, yes, if the encrypted vault still exists on your device. We test password candidates systematically against your vault data on offline machines. The more you remember about the password’s structure, the better the odds. A free assessment tells you where you stand.

Can MetaMask support recover my password or phrase?

No. MetaMask is non-custodial and holds nothing on your behalf, so their support team has nothing to reset. That’s by design. It’s also why technical reconstruction from your own device data is the only legitimate route, and why anyone posing as “MetaMask support” asking for your phrase is running a scam.

I only have my password, not my Secret Recovery Phrase. Is that enough?

Only if the vault data still exists on a device you used. The password alone, without that encrypted file, unlocks nothing. If the extension is still installed or the browser profile survives, chances are often good.

My Secret Recovery Phrase is missing some words. Can you help?

Up to 4 missing words, frequently yes. We search the missing positions systematically using the BIP39 wordlist and checksum. A phrase that MetaMask rejects outright (wrong word, wrong order) is often repairable too. A fully lost phrase with no other material is not.

I was scammed through MetaMask. Can you get my funds back?

No. We don’t work on theft or fraud cases; blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed. Our focus is technical access recovery for people who still own their funds but can’t reach them. Be careful: “recovery agents” who contact scam victims are almost always the second wave of the same scam.

I uninstalled MetaMask. Is my wallet gone?

Not necessarily. Your funds never left the blockchain, and the encrypted vault sometimes survives in browser profile files or on the drive itself. Stop using that computer for anything non-essential and request an assessment. The less the drive is written to, the better your chances.

What does MetaMask wallet recovery cost?

Nothing unless it works. Our No Cure No Pay model means a 20% (lowered with high-value wallets) success fee on the recovered amount, paid by you personally at the handover, never deducted from your wallet by us. We handle cases from about €5,000 in value, and the assessment itself is free.
