A forgotten wallet password, when you have the wallet file
Need Electrum password recovery? We can test passwords systematically with GPU-based tools that run through hundreds of thousands of combinations per second. The more you remember about the password (length, a word you used, a rough pattern), the higher the chances.
A seed Electrum won't accept, or one that's incomplete
Electrum rejects a phrase when something’s off: a wrong word, two swapped, a checksum that won’t line up, or a few words missing. If you’re missing up to four words, it’s worth attempting. We work through the options systematically, and if the phrase can’t be rebuilt, we’ll say so plainly.
Seed works, but Electrum shows a zero balance or won't finish syncing
The coins usually aren’t gone. More often the seed’s been restored as the wrong wallet type, so Electrum is watching the wrong addresses. Legacy, SegWit, and native SegWit all pull different addresses from the same seed. We work out which one actually holds your funds.
A wallet file that won't open
Wallet file corrupted, cut short, or partly overwritten after a bad backup or a failing drive. If enough of the file survives, the keys inside can often still be pulled out. Stop writing to that drive and make a copy before you do anything else.
A wallet from a much older Electrum version
Early Electrum used a different seed and address format from the current one, so an old backup sometimes fails to restore cleanly, or restores to addresses that look empty. These older wallets are recoverable, but they need handling that matches the version they were made in.
A forgotten seed word extension
This is the custom word or passphrase some people add on top of the standard seed for a hidden wallet. If you’ve still got the seed and some memory of the extension, we can test the likely candidates.
What we can’t help you with
Honest about the limits of Electrum wallet recovery, to save you time.
- A seed lost completely, with no wallet file and no private keys. Nobody can rebuild that from nothing — not us, not anyone. A service that claims otherwise is describing something that can’t be done.
- Stolen or scammed coins. No scam tracing, no stolen-crypto recovery. Blockchain transactions are irreversible; our work is technical access reconstruction for people who still own their coins but can’t reach them.
- Coins sent to the wrong chain or the wrong address. Also irreversible, also out of scope.
How the process works at Crypto Recovers
From your first contact to the secure handover, we explain what happens at each stage before moving forward.
1. Initial contact
Contact us with a general description of the access problem. We will ask only the preliminary questions needed to understand the type of wallet and recovery scenario.
2. Free case assessment
We assess whether recovery appears technically feasible, discuss the realistic prospects and explain the expected approach, timeframe and fee structure. There is no obligation to proceed.
3. Agreement and verification
Before any recovery work begins, we confirm the scope, complete the required identity and ownership checks, and record the agreed terms in a formal contract. An NDA can be arranged where appropriate.
4. Recovery process
We carry out the recovery using a method suited to the specific wallet and circumstances.
5. Handover and payment
Once access has been restored, we guide you through verifying the wallet and transferring the funds to a fresh wallet under your control. You complete the transfer yourself, and the agreed fee is settled only after the recovery has succeeded.
Our process is non-custodial: you remain responsible for and in control of your funds throughout the handover. Crypto Recovers does not take possession of the recovered assets or deduct its fee directly from the wallet balance. If the recovery is unsuccessful, no recovery fee is charged.
Electrum Wallet Recovery FAQs
I have no seed and no wallet file at all. Can you help me?
Then there’s nothing to reconstruct access from, and we’ll tell you that plainly rather than take the case. No honest service can rebuild a wallet from nothing.
I lost my seed phrase completely. Can you help me?
A seed can’t be built from nothing, so a fully lost seed on its own isn’t recoverable by anyone. But if you still have the wallet file or an exported private key, we can usually work from that instead. Tell us what you’ve got and you’ll get a straight answer.
How much does Electrum wallet recovery cost?
No Cure No Pay: you pay only if we succeed. The fee is 20% of the recovered amount, negotiable on larger wallets, with no upfront or hourly charges and a free assessment. You pay it yourself at the handover, so it never comes out of your funds by our hand.
Why should I choose Crypto Recovers?
200+ wallets recovered since 2019, including cases others gave up on. We charge nothing upfront and don’t promise results, which is the opposite of how the scam outfits work. The recovery is done by people who know how these wallets are built, the company is run by a programmer, Robbert Bink. You can check our Amsterdam registration yourself, and we’re the daughter company of Cryptoherstel.nl, the leading NL recovery firm.
How is Electrum wallet recovery different from other wallets?
An Electrum seed is not a BIP39 seed. It uses its own format, so a valid Electrum phrase fails a BIP39 checker and vice versa. That catches people out: a phrase flagged as “invalid” can be perfectly good, just tested against the wrong standard. Electrum’s wallet types and seed extensions have their own quirks too, which is why recovering one takes knowing the software, not generic tools.
What are the safety rules during Electrum Wallet recovery?
A few rules protect you before, during, and after any recovery, with us or with anyone else.
- Never type your seed phrase into a website, app, or form. Not ours, not anyone’s. No real recovery needs it, and a site that asks for it is a trap.
- Work from copies. Before you touch a wallet file or a failing drive, make at least two copies and set the originals aside. Any recovery attempt should run on a copy, never your only version.
- Stop using a failing drive. If the wallet file sits on a disk that’s throwing errors, stop writing to it now. Every read and write can overwrite what’s still recoverable.
- You always move your own funds. No legitimate service asks you to send your coins to them. Once access is back, you sweep the funds yourself, to a wallet you created.
- No upfront fee, no guarantees. Anyone charging before results, or promising 100% recovery, is the pattern to walk away from.
- Check who you’re dealing with. Scammers copy real recovery firms down to the name. Verify the business registration and contact details yourself before you share anything.
