Can Jaxx Liberty still be recovered after the shutdown?
Sometimes. A 12-word Jaxx phrase can reproduce the expected addresses only in compatible wallet software using the same phrase handling, derivation path, account and network settings. A surviving Jaxx Liberty installation may still expose the phrase.
Why does my restored Jaxx wallet show zero?
Jaxx used derivation paths some wallets do not scan by default. Restore in a wallet that lets you choose the path and check account index 0/1.
Is there a Jaxx support desk?
No. Jaxx Liberty is retired; anyone claiming to be "Jaxx support" is a scam.

Jaxx seed phrase rejected
One misread word or a swapped order is usually enough to fail the checksum on Jaxx's standard BIP-39 backup phrase; when a wrong phrase happens to pass, it opens a different, empty wallet. Handwriting is a common cause: a single letter read wrong turns a valid word into a different one, or into a word that is not on the list at all. That leaves a small, searchable space, and small spaces are often solvable. Fix an invalid recovery phrase
Incomplete Jaxx seed phrase
Every blank position is a choice from the 2,048 words of the BIP-39 word list. The checksum discards most candidates, but the raw space still multiplies by 2,048 with each additional gap. We reconstruct phrases with up to four missing words. Feasibility depends on which positions are known, how legible the remaining words are, whether an old receiving address can confirm a candidate, and what hardware the search can use; the assessment establishes your case. Jaxx derived addresses its own way for some coins, so a new wallet can scan paths where your funds never lived. Jaxx Liberty never supported SegWit, which is why Edge, one of the two wallets Jaxx recommended for the migration, tells users to pick the non-SegWit wallet type for Bitcoin, Litecoin and DigiByte. Checking the address types and paths other wallets skip, coin by coin and against an address you know, resolves many of these cases. Zero balance after a restore
Forgotten Jaxx security password
The optional security password encrypted the Jaxx wallet files on the device and was needed to view the backup phrase. Desktop installs left that encrypted data in the application folder, and it usually survived the shutdown. If you forgot the password and the device Jaxx ran on is still available, we can often recover it through systematic testing, working only on a copy. Stop using that device now. For a period after the March 2023 shutdown, an installed copy of Jaxx Liberty still displayed the 12-word phrase on request, under Menu, Security, View Backup Phrase. A device that has not been wiped since is worth checking before you assume nothing survives. Common mistakes to avoid
- Don't assume a zero balance after importing your phrase means the funds are gone; check whether the new wallet scans the address types and paths Jaxx used.
- Don't factory-reset, wipe or reinstall a device that once ran Jaxx before its wallet data has been copied.
- Don't enter a partial or uncertain seed phrase into an online tool or website.
- Don't copy private keys out of an old Jaxx app through the clipboard or a screenshot. Edge stopped recommending key extraction after users who did that lost funds.
- Download wallets only from official sites. The shutdown created a long tail of fake "Jaxx replacement" apps and recovery services, and no official Jaxx support channel remains.
- Never share your full 12 words with anyone, including us, to get an assessment.
Information that helps the assessment
- Whether you have the full backup phrase, part of it or none. Describe what you have; don't send the words.
- Which cryptocurrencies and tokens the wallet held, and a receiving address you used, if you have one.
- Whether the computer or phone Jaxx ran on, or a backup of it, is still available.
- Whether you exported private keys or wallet files while Jaxx still worked.
- Anything you remember about the security password, if one was set.
- What happened, in general terms, and what you have already tried, such as the wallets you imported the phrase into.

A confirmed blockchain transaction cannot be reversed, cancelled or redirected, by us or by anyone.

With no phrase, wallet file, device, backup or partial information left, there is nothing to reconstruct from.

A clear process from first contact to handover.
Tell us what happened
Share the wallet or software name, approximate year, device, problem and what material still exists. Do not send a seed phrase, private key, password, wallet file or ID document.
Initial feasibility view
Once we have enough information, we usually explain the likely recovery route, the main uncertainties and an initial indication of duration.
Verify and agree
We verify identity and ownership or legal authority. Scope, working method, fee and sensitive-material handling are agreed in writing before sensitive work begins.
Transfer or hand over material
PGP, our secure encrypted upload environment, in-person handover or agreed shipment may be used. We request only what is needed and work with copies where possible.
Technical recovery
We test the agreed recovery route in a controlled environment. You receive meaningful updates when findings affect the outlook, scope or next decision.
Client-controlled handover
Access is handed back through the agreed route. You open the wallet and move the assets to a wallet you control; case material is then handled according to the agreement and privacy policy.

Good to know about Jaxx Liberty recovery
- What the shutdown changed. Jaxx Liberty went offline on March 27, 2023, when Decentral ended normal operations and shut down the backend servers. That removed the app, not the coins: your funds live on the blockchain, and the wallet was only the key to them. An installed copy can no longer transact, and the balances it shows may be out of date.

- A hacked or compromised Jaxx wallet. Fake Jaxx websites and fake Jaxx wallet apps target former Jaxx users. Funds that already left a compromised wallet cannot be brought back by anyone, because a confirmed transaction is final.

Which cryptocurrencies can you recover from a Jaxx Liberty wallet?
Every coin and token in the wallet came from the same 12-word phrase, so a complete or reconstructed phrase covers all of them. Each asset is then checked on its own network, with the address type and derivation path Jaxx used for it.
I only remember part of my backup phrase. Is that enough?
Often, if at least eight of the twelve words are certain and you roughly know where the gaps are. More than four missing words leaves a search space too large to work through.
Can you recover a Jaxx wallet without the 12-word phrase?
Sometimes. The original device, a backup of it, or private keys you exported while Jaxx still worked can be enough. With no phrase, no app data and no exported keys, there is nothing left to recover from: Jaxx never held a copy on its servers.
How long does Jaxx Liberty recovery take?
A single wrong word or a derivation-path mismatch is often resolved within days. Password recovery from device data can take several weeks, and a search for several missing words can take longer. After the free assessment you get a realistic estimate for your case; if recovery is not realistic, we say so.
How much does crypto wallet recovery cost?
It depends on the wallet's value and how complex the case is: our success fee runs from 20% of the recovered amount down to 2%. The exact rate is agreed in writing before any work starts — no hidden costs and no hourly rates.
Do you take custody of the assets at any point?
No. We restore access; you open the wallet and move the funds yourself. We cannot initiate a transaction on your behalf.
Do I need to send my seed phrase or password?
No — first contact needs no sensitive material, and we never ask for it through forms or chat. Under a written agreement we can work with copies of wallet files in a controlled environment, so your keys stay under your control.
What if my wallet was stolen or I was scammed?
We do not take stolen-crypto or scam cases, and blockchain transactions cannot be reversed. That is a police and legal matter.
