Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process for recovering access to my wallet?

We begin by understanding your specific situation, typically over a (video) call, by email, or during an in-person meeting at our office (on-site meetings are also possible). Once we have a clear picture and have determined that recovery is feasible, we sign a contract and the work begins.

Our team then applies specialized tools and techniques to restore access to the wallet, keeping you informed at every stage. As soon as we’ve restored access, we complete the handover together: you move your funds to a new wallet you created yourself, and you pay the fee in that same session, with both of us present. We never touch your crypto.

For larger or more complex cases, and for organizations, we are also glad to meet on-site in your own country — and to carry out the recovery there when needed.

How much do you charge for recovery services?

Our standard fee is 20% of the recovered amount, though for larger recoveries, this fee may be reduced. We’ll discuss pricing with you based on your specific needs and the complexity of the recovery. Find out more about the pricing for crypto wallet recovery.

What if I have no information or am not sure if I have the correct files/data?

If you’ve lost your seed phrase, backup file or discarded a device containing your private key / backup, the recovery process becomes extremely difficult. In some cases, such as with services like Blockchain.com, we may be able to help you retrieve backup files. Additionally, we can sometimes recover deleted files from old hard drives.

However, if you’ve completely lost access to your private information or backup, there is little we or any other recovery service can do to assist you in regaining access to your crypto.

Please note: Some wallets require or offer different backup and recovery methods. If you’re unsure whether you have the necessary information, we can assist you in determining whether a recovery is possible. Feel free to contact us.

How long does it take to recover the access to my wallet?

The recovery time depends on the specifics of each case, but typically it can range from a few days to several weeks. We will keep you updated on progress and give an estimated timeline as we work through the process.

How can I trust you?

We’re a registered business based in Amsterdam, so you can verify us in the dutch business register. Before any recovery begins, both the client and Crypto Recovers sign a detailed contract that lays out all the terms. You’re welcome to visit our office by appointment to meet us in person, and for larger or more complex cases we can also come to you and carry out the recovery on-site.

We never take custody: you always move your own funds yourself. Depending on the case, the recovery is done on our own secure offline systems or on-site with you, never over an open internet connection.

What types of cryptocurrencies do you recover?

We specialize in recovering most major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and other altcoins. If you need help with a specific type of crypto, feel free to contact us for more details.

Can you help recover assets that were stolen or lost due to a scam?

No, and be careful of anyone who says yes. Once crypto has been stolen or sent to a scammer, it has moved to a wallet the thief controls, and no legitimate company can “hack it back.” Companies that promise to recover scammed funds are almost always scams themselves, often targeting victims a second time.

What we can do is connect you with our specialized partners for a scam trace: a professional analysis of where your funds went on the blockchain, resulting in a report you can use to file a police report or take legal action. To be clear, this is an investigation service, not a recovery — traced funds are only rarely returned, and we’d rather tell you that honestly upfront.

Do I need to provide all my passwords to recover access to my wallet?

No, you don’t need to provide all your passwords. We only require essential wallet-related information and prioritize your privacy and security throughout the recovery process.

Please DO NOT share any private information or passwords until a contract is signed.
